Israeli forces have arrested at least 40 Palestinians, including former prisoners, in the latest wave of overnight and early morning raids across the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reports.

With the fresh arrest, the total number of Palestinian detainees has increased to 3,000.

According to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, the arrests took place in Jenin, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah, Jerusalem and Jericho.

Meanwhile, at least one person was wounded during a raid in the town of Arraba, southwest of Jenin, Al Jazeera reports.
