CHARSADDA: Two brothers were killed and their cousin was injured when their rivals opened fire on them over a hand pump dispute in Mubeen Korona area of Shabqadar here on Wednesday.

The Shabqadar police station officials said that two groups in Mubeen Korona area exchanged hot words over the use of mosque hand pump during morning prayers.

Afterwards, they said that when 25-year-old Abdul Samad and his 35-year-old brother, Maskin came out of the mosque, the rival group opened indiscriminate fire on them, killing the two on the spot.

Their cousin, Jamal, 18, suffered injuries. The injured was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, Shabqaddar.

Soon after the incident, SP investigations Sanober Khan, DSP Gul Sheed Khan and SHO Riaz Khan rushed to the crime scene.

Later, the police registered an FIR against the accused, Jamsheed Khan and his sons, Zaid and Mobin Abdullah, on the complaint of Fazal Manan, a brother of the deceased.
