LARKANA, Feb 18: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit, has directed the Sindh government to recruit two ASI candidates after a medical test. The bench comprised Justice Mohammed Sadiq Leghari and Justice Nadeem Azhar.
Anwar Channa advocate said that Mazhar Kango and Asghar Kango had applied for the post of ASI in May 1995. They qualified physical and written tests on July 16 conducted by a board comprised of assistant inspector-general police Sukkur and DPO Larkana.
They had also qualified interview and were placed at serial numbers 80 and 167. But two others, Nazir Sangi with serial number 445 and Zahid Abro (455) were appointed. They alleged that those appointed had not appeared in any physical and written tests for the recruitment of ASI.
Responding to seven identical petitions, DIG Akhtar Gorchani said that as the matter was 11 years old the merit list of eligible candidates was not available in the office. The advocate said that despite repeated directions by the court, the merit list was not provided in the court.
The division bench allowing the petition asked the Sindh government to appoint them as the ASI after taking their medical test.
NAZIM: District Nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arijo has urged vaccinators working under the Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI) to expedite efforts to make the programme a success.
He was speaking at a programme at the office of the EDO, health, to distribute 30 motorcycles among vaccinators on Saturday. The nazim hoped that vaccinators would now be able to cover more area in less time.
He said the government was determined to provide healthcare facilities to people of remote areas at their doorsteps.
The nazim also visited the Government High School, a middle school and primary schools of boys and girls in the Bakhodero village, Dokri.
He stressed the need for imparting education on modern lines and enhancing enrolment ratio. He said the quality of education needed to be improved.
He checked attendance registers of teachers and found four teachers of the Government Primary Boys’ School absent.
Mr Arijo after finding the Government Girls’ Middle School closed directed education officers to submit him a report immediately so that action could be taken in this regard.
CMCH: The medical superintendent of the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, on Saturday announced that viva voce examinations of the operation theatre technician course would be held on Feb 22.
