SARGODHA: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) special judge Nadeem Tahir Syed on Tuesday extended physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s former MNA from Mianwali Amjad Ali Khan for four days.

The former MNA is facing charges of inciting violence and motivating a mob to attack various points in the city, including setting fire to an aircraft monument.

Mr Khan appeared fresh and confident during the hearing, but he was not allowed to communicate with the media.

The next hearing will be held on Dec 2.

FESCO: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Compnay (Fesco) has reimbursed the Sargodha municipal corporation over Rs97 million for the inclusion of bogus extra units in the electricity bills.

The repayment was made following directives from higher authorities and aimed to rectify the overcharging of the municipality.

A total of Rs52.47 million were returned for the excess units charged in bills collected from the water works and disposal works department, with an additional Rs44.57m returned to the division.

ACE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Khushab has arrested the secretary of a union council while accepting bribe for issuing a death certificate.

The arrest followed a written complaint from Umar Hayat Jabi, a resident of Khushab.

The ACE raid recovered tainted currency amounting to Rs18,000 from the possession of Jabi union council secretary Amir Fayyaz.
