KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead and another wounded by a citizen in North Nazimbad on Tuesday, police said.

The Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police said that three suspected robbers entered a private school located on the ground floor of a residential building in Block M near Imam Clinic.

However, Salahuddin Ansari, who lived on the first-floor apartment, raised alarm. Seeing that, the suspects resorted to firing. Salahuddin also returned fire from his licensed pistol, which resulted in the death of one of the suspects and injuries to his accomplice.

The dead and wounded were identified as Ishtiaq and Rizwan, respectively.

The police said that they appeared to be drug addicts and their possible criminal record was being checked.
