ISLAMABAD: The Romanian National Day celebrations on Tuesday night transcended mere commemoration of 105 years of history and became a vibrant tribute to unity and national pride.
Celebrated on December 1 every year, the National Day was a moment of remembrance of the historical act of December 1, 1918, representing a fundamental landmark for all Romanians, at home and abroad.
During the reception, Romanian Charge d’ Affaires Eduard-Robert Preda highlighted the history and significance of Romania’s independence, offering a moment of reflection on the nation’s journey.
In his speech, Eduard Preda not only looked back at the achievements but also emphasised the aspirations for a brighter future.
“This day is a symbol of our solidarity in the face of all the difficulties we have faced as a nation, which we have overcome and will continue to overcome, with confidence in our own strength, through common efforts and trust in the future we are building together,” the envoy.
Guests extended warm greetings and felicitations to Eduard-Robert Preda and Angela Preda.
“The history of Romania is one of resilience amid adversity, marked by wars, disasters, and political turmoil. Despite these challenges, the Romanian people’s determination and sacrifice have secured freedom and independence. The anniversary of the Great Union commemorates the sacrifices that laid the foundation for modern Romania and its place in the European family,” Mr Preda said.
