PESHAWAR: Three members of a family including a hakeem were shot dead in Nanakpura area here on Thursday afternoon, police said.

An official at the Hashtnagri police station told Dawn that the incident took place at around 2pm when an unidentified attacker opened fire on the victims. He said Hakeem Mohammad Saleem and his son-in-law Abdul Wadud died on the spot while his son Abdur Rehman later died at the hospital.

The official said there was a lone attacker who targeted the family.

He said the police have registered an FIR against unidentified attacker under section 302, as, he added, the family had not nominated anyone for the murders.

He said police was investigating the incident and trying to get some CCTV footage from the locality near the crime scene.
