PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday released a list of women terrorists, who had been involved in different subversive activities in the province since 2014.

According to the list issued here, 30 women were involved in incidents of terrorism, 13 in kidnapping, two in extortion and three each in target killing, terror financing.

CTD Director General Imran Shahid said intelligence and law enforcement agencies were facing difficulties in arrest of these women due to cultural and traditional barriers and also because there was almost no source linked with the female criminals or terrorists.

He said cases were registered in different police stations against these women and some cases were pending in courts.

The CTD lists shows that cases of terrorism were registered against 18 women in different police stations of Peshawar. Of them, nine women were acquitted, and cases of others were in courts.
