SWAT: Dost Mohammad Khan, a member of the central executive committee of Pakistan Peoples Party, along with his family and friends joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz here on Thursday.

He announced it at a gathering arranged by PML-N in Mingora that was attended by PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam and other local leaders.

Mr Muqam welcomed newcomers to the party. He said that PML-N would secure a decisive victory in the upcoming general elections and lead Pakistan towards development.

“Certain factions want to destabilise the country in the guise of politics, but PML-N stands as the singular party committed to protecting it and steering it toward progress and development,” he said. He added that PML-N was committed to sustaining development in the future.

Mr Muqam alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf hatched a plot against the state, which was evident from the events of May 9. “Even enemies have never inflicted such damage on the state before,” he said.

Speaking about the PTI intra-party election, he said that the entire nation saw the face of the claimants of justice during the intra-party polls. He said that fake cases were registered against PML-N and its leaders on political grounds during the PTI rule.

“A conspiracy was hatched against Pakistan during the PTI era. Approximately 35 false cases were filed against me, leading to the arrest of my son and the issuance of an arrest warrant for my wife,” he said.

He said that political standing of PTI diminished as people became familiar with it. He said that PML-N would come into power and provide every facility to people by starting a series of development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
