RAWALPINDI: Two young men were hospitalised with burn injuries they sustained during a gas cylinder explosion in a Tandoor shop (clay oven) on Babu Hussain Road on Tuesday.

According to emergency services, the fire was extinguished and the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where their condition was stable.

The injured were identified as Saeed Ahmed, 45 and Hameed, 38.

Meanwhile: 16 people were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger wagon and a car in the limit of Gujar Khan on Tuesday.

Initial reports suggested that a car suspected to be recklessly driven crashed into the wagon coming from the opposite side after crossing the road divider.

The injured were shifted to hospital by the Rescue 1122 staff.
