ISLAMABAD: A man and his wife were gunned down while their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter was injured during an armed attack, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Asim Lang, assistant registrar engineer at the Pakistan Engineering Council, and his wife, Rida Anwar. Their injured daughter was identified as Sabrina.

The incident took place in the area of Alwadi Colony, the police said, adding that four armed men opened indiscriminate fire on their car.

The attack was carried out in front of the victims’ house when Mr Lang was reversing his vehicle, police said.

The man and his wife died on the spot while the daughter sustained critical injuries.

Later the deceased and the injured were shifted to a hospital.

The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime, police said.

A case has been registered at Bhara Kahu police station under sections 302, 324, and 34.

The reason behind the killings was a dispute over the right of way.
