BAHAWALPUR: The 19th Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally will be held in the vast desert during the second week of January, 2024.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Saturday, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa.

According to a handout, the jeep rally, to be participated in by over 100 drivers, would be a four-day programme, also featuring various other interesting events.

The meeting also discussed the security measures for the mega sports event to be held in the desert.

Addressing the meeting, the DC said the jeep rally would be a festival, for which all government should department work jointly.

He directed all the heads of the government departments to submit their respective plans to hold the annual event in a befitting manner.

The meeting was also attended byBahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BCCI) President Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Mann, besides the officials of different government departments concerned.

The BCCI would also coordinate with the district administration to hold different events on the occasion.
