QUETTA: Amid an ongoing protest against the alleged ‘fake’ encounter and some two weeks after a court had ordered registration of an FIR, the Counter-Terrorism Department officials and a senior police officer were booked on Saturday in connection with the killing of Balach Mola Bakhsh.

The family of the deceased alleged that Mola Baksh was killed by the CTD in a ‘fake’ operation, pointing out that a court in Turbat had remanded him in their custody on Nov 21. After his killing, a sessions court in Turbat ordered police on Nov 25 to register an FIR against the CTD and police officials who had conducted the operation and claimed his killing.

Sources said that on an application of Mola Bakhsh’s father, an FIR was registered against the Turbat police SHO, CTD regional officer, investigating officer, and the official in charge of the lock-up.

Later, police said a senior officer, Noor Bakhsh, has been appointed as investigating officer in the Mola Bakhsh’s killing case.
