KARACHI: Mayor Murtaza Wahab inaugurated an open-air gym at the Pak-China Friendship Park on Kashmir Road on Wednesday.

China’s Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong also attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yang lauded the efforts of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for building the facility in a very short time.

He congratulated the city administration on the opening of the Pak-China Friendship Park and said that it would further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

Four acres of land on Kashmir Road was meant for a park but it was under encroachment. The land was retrieved following an anti-encroachment drive and in January, the Sindh governor had laid the foundation the stone and named it Pak-China Friendship Park to mark beginning of new Chinese year. The park finally opened to public in June.
