Israel’s parliament approved adding an additional 25.9 billion shekels ($7 billion) to the national budget to help cover costs of the Gaza conflict, such as compensation for military reservists and emergency housing for the internally displaced, Reuters reports.
The amendment, ratified by a vote of 59 lawmakers in favour and 45 opposed, increased the 2023 budget to 510 billion shekels ($139 billion), a Knesset spokesperson said.
