CHITRAL: Students of both government and private educational institutions put on display their projects during an art and science exhibition held here on Sunday.

Government Centennial Model School arranged the exhibition on its premises.

A large number of students and academia turned up, evincing deep interest in the projects, and applauded the presenters.

Lower Chitral deputy commissioner Mohammad Imran Khan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

District education officer Mehmud Ghaznavi, school principal Fazle Subhan and others gave away prizes to the winners in different categories.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Imran appreciated the students for exhibiting their capabilities. He said that the projects were highly impressive by their themes, design and presentation, while many of the projects related to computer science, chemistry, physics and biology had practical use.

Mr Imran asked the students to prepare themselves for the world of competition, which they were going to enter after completing their education.

He appreciated the school management for holding the art and science extravaganza, and assured the students of his all-out support in resolving their issues.

Mr Ghaznavi and principal Fazle Subhan announced to hold the event at the divisional level next year keeping in view the interest the students demonstrated.

Government girls college, Drosh, clinched two positions in painting and embroidery categories, while Aga Khan higher secondary school excelled in physics, computer science and chemistry. Centennial model school won mathematics category.

Government girls college clinched the calligraphy category.

Government girls school, Muldeh, emerged victorious in embroidery; government centennial school for girls in biology, government girls middle school, Jughoor, in painting and Langland school in computer science.
