RAWALPINDI: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has appointed interim Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Dr Jamal Nasir as in-charge of all ongoing development projects in Rawalpindi.

Dr Jamal Nasir will inform the chief minister about the progress on the projects and share pictures on WhatsAppp on a daily basis.

In a statement, Dr Jamal Nasir said he would live up to the trust of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi at all costs and people of Rawalpindi would get to see practical demonstration of work.

He said the reconstruction and upgradation of Holy Family Hospital was the top project of public interest which would be completed within the stipulated period by next month.

He said the ongoing projects in Benazir Bhutto Hospital and repair and carpeting of 36 roads in Rawalpindi were also included in the priorities, which would be completed within the stipulated time frame.

The caretaker minister said there would be no compromise on negligence and poor work and in case of laxity and deliberate reduction in quality of work, immediate and strict action would be taken against the responsible officers.

Caretaker Minister Dr Jamal Nasir said like the entire province, the Punjab government was taking important steps to provide relief to the people of Rawalpindi, and in this regard, no shortcoming would be tolerated.

He said all ministers had been given the responsibilities of ongoing projects across the province and were directed to complete them within their respective deadlines.
