SWAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial president Amir Muqam has said that that his party will win the upcoming general elections as it has many achievements to its credit.

Addressing a press conference at Sangota House here on Sunday, he said that a large number of people was joining PML-N in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that it reflected the trust and confidence placed in the leadership of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

“Unlike PTI, which has limited politics to abuses, PML-N believes in the politics of respect and democracy,” he said. He added that PML-N was in politically mature and patriotic hands.

Mr Muqam claimed that PML-N would sweep the upcoming elections in the entire province with the power of people. “Nawaz Sharif’s team must be successful in the general elections if the country is to be freed from the tangle of problems created by the incompetent PTI during its rule. PTI not only destroyed the country internally but also on the external front,” he said.

He said that construction of motorways and ending electricity loadshedding across the country were notable accomplishments of PML-N. “Nawaz Sharif stood out as the sole leader capable of restoring peace and stability in the entire country from Karachi to Khyber,” he said. He added that record development was made during the reigns of PML-N. Nawaz Sharif had led the country on the path of development, he added.

Mr Muqam said that had Nawaz Sharif not faced disqualification, Pakistan could have achieved complete financial independence from International Monetary Fund. However, he lamented that the previous government led by PTI adversely impacted the country’s economy.

He expressed the confidence that PML-N would secure a comprehensive victory in the province in the polls. “Recognising the essential requirement for developmental projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nawaz Sharif extended the network of infrastructure in the region, highlighting his understanding of the province’s significance,” he added.

Mr Muqam said that the previous provincial government obstructed development projects launched by PML-N.

On the occasion, Altaf Hussain resigned from ANP and joined PML-N along with his family and friends.
