PESHAWAR: Senior police officials visited different Churches in the provincial capital on Sunday and reviewed security measures taken for Christmas.
Police said strict security arrangements had been made for Christmas and that deployment of personnel at churches located in the interior city and cantonment areas was being reviewed by senior officials in intervals.
“Policemen have been deployed in and around the three churches in the cantonment. Rooftops of the buildings have also been covered by sharpshooters,” SP cantonment Waqas Rafiq told Dawn. He said security arrangements were made both for tonight [Sunday night] and Monday.
He said around 40 personnel had been deployed at each church in the cantonment.

“We have covered around 20 rooftops and entries to the churches with over 150 personnel,” SP Tayyab Jan said.
