ISLAMABAD: The main draw of the eighth Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Champi­onship is set to kick off today (Tuesday), featuring the country’s top-ranked players in action.

The qualifying round for the championship was held earlier on Monday here at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex.

Notably, international tennis player Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi will be the part of tournament along with a stellar lineup of players, including veteran Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza — who won the recently concluded Benazir Bhutto National Ranking Tennis Tournament — Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Abid, Barkatullah, Shahzad Khan and Yousaf Khalil.

In the women’s categories, Sarah Mahboob Khan, Meheq Khokhar, Sheeza Sajid, Esha Jawad, and Amna Ali Qayum, are set to compete in this mega event.

Organisers reported a sub­s­tantial turnout with 260 entries across five different categories: men’s singles, men’s doubles, ladies singles, boys U-18 and boys U-14.
