KHUZDAR: Four persons burned to death in a head-on collision between two vehicles loaded with Iranian petrol on the Gwadar-Ratodero National Highway in the Karkh area of Khuzdar district on Friday.

Levies officials stated that two Zambyad vehicles, used for smuggling Iranian petrol and diesel, collided head-on at M8 in the Karkh area, both loaded with oil.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles caught fire, and the four persons travelling in them burned to death on the spot.

“All four persons, including two drivers, were engulfed in the huge fire,” a senior Karkh Levies official said, adding that both vehicles were completely gutted.

Levies personnel recovered the burnt bodies from the destroyed vehicles and shifted them to Khuzdar teaching hospital. The victims were identified as Saifullah, residents of Panjgur, Abdul Salam, Abdul Malik, and Inayatullah, who belonged to Khuzdar.

The hospital later handed over the bodies to the heirs after completing medico-legal formalities.
