DERA MURAD JAMALI/KHUZDAR: Two teenage boys lost their lives in a hand grenade attack carried out by unidentified armed individuals in the Mach town of Bolan district on Saturday evening.

According to the police, unknown motorcyclists tossed a grenade in Mach’s main bazaar, causing it to explode in front of a shop. One child was killed instantly, while the other sustained injuries. Promptly responding, the police transported the injured boy and the deceased boy’s body to Mach hospital.

After initial treatment, the injured boy was transferred to Quetta civil hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. The victims were identified as Babar Ali and Mir Ahmed. Their bodies were handed over to their families after medico-legal formalities.

The grenade explosion also resulted in damage to some shops. In response, security forces cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation in Mach to apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Separately, on Saturday evening, a man’s body, bearing bullet wounds, was found in the Naal area of Khuzdar district. Residents reported the unattended body to the authorities, prompting the police to arrive at the scene and take the body into custody.

The body was spotted near the CPEC Road in the Washuk Naag Girard area. Following the retrieval, the body was transported to Khuzdar’s teaching hospital, where a post-mortem examination was conducted. It was later handed over to the deceased’s family.

The victim, identified as Ghous Bakhsh from Mach area in Bolan district, had multiple bullet injuries across his body, according to doctors. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s killing and the subsequent dumping of his body.
