Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has called the lack of drinking water in Gaza tantamount to being handed a “death sentence”.

It added in a statement that “the systematic and deliberate Israeli bombing of water wells and sources, in addition to the lack of fuel necessary to operate water conversion” has resulted in a “horrific tragedy”.

Euro-Med warned that the “lack of drinking water in the Gaza Strip has become a matter of life and death, at a time when residents are forced to use unclean water from wells, which has contributed to the spread of transmitted and infectious diseases”.
