TAXILA: All the Arazi Record Centres (ARC) across the province are being shut down gradually and e-registration centers are being established in all districts to facilitate e-registry and all services related to the revenue department.

This was stated by Chairman Punjab Land Record Authority, Shahid Hussain Janjua during his visit to Arazi Record Centre (ARC) Attock on Tuesday.

Deputy cmmissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, additional deputy commissioner revenue Waqas Aslam Marth and other officials of local administration and revenue department were also present on this occasion.

He conversed with the citizens who came for their transfer of land and inquired about the process of land record system and staff conduct.

On this occasion, Mr Janjua directed the relevant authorities to take measures for improving good governance and service delivery.

He said with the introduction of the e-registration system, public complaints about fraud and corruption will be addressed as the e-registration system will be linked with an e-stamp, land record management system, and National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra). “This integration aims to eliminate possibilities of tax evasion, loss of property documents, and enhance efficiency in the real estate business,” Mr Janjua added.

He further said that people would get rid of frequently visits to the offices for their transfer of land and the land transfer process will become transparent with the establishment of e-registration centre and corruption will be eliminated.

“After disallowing the manual registry across the province since Jan 1, the e-registration system had been made mandatory for land transfer,” he added.

He said that new reforms in land records have been introduced using modern technology and advanced software.

“This is done to develop the land administration system on modern lines and align the services with international standards,” he explained.

Mr Janjua said that e-registration centres would be established in all districts to facilitate e-registry and Board of

Revenue and Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) would function under one roof.

He said that the Punjab government has directed all development authorities to digitize their records on the pattern of Lahore Development Authority to provide better services to the people.

Earlier, Deputy commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza gave a detailed briefing to Chairman Punjab Land Record Authority Shahid Hussain Janjua about the land transfer process and state of working at all six arazi centers of the district.
