QUETTA: More than 400 IP cameras have been installed at around 225 locations as part of the Quetta Safe City Project, officials working on the project have said.
While addressing a news briefing on Monday, the officials added that the project includes over 1400 IP cameras within and around the city, accompanied by an efficient monitoring system to maintain peace and ensure the safety of residents.
The pace of development on the project, which started several years ago, has been slow. However, it has now picked up pace, they added.
The entire safe city project includes cutting-edge surveillance systems to aid law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace.
The project also boasts a highly skilled human resource and is noteworthy as Pakistan’s inaugural indigenously designed operational initiative, they added. It will enhance coordination with other law enforcement agencies to establish a customised response and ensure prompt action.
