FRESH GRADUATES

FRESH GRADUATES: I have been searching for a suitable job for the last few months, but have not found any advertisement for fresh graduates in any company or government department, except the banking sector. Most organisations ask for at least two years of experience along with a master’s degree. Every year, a significant number of students complete their bachelor’s degree, but do not get the opportunities they deserve. Where will these fresh graduates go if every organisation hires experienced people? The stakeholders are requested to make room for fresh graduates. Surely, they will deliver their best whenever they get a chance.

A SHAREHOLDER’S PROTEST: I am a shareholder of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) who is ashamed of having invested in a company that is busy wasting money on this, that and everything else except on ensuring that it does its basic job right; the job of providing natural gas to its domestic and commercial consumers. The financial crisis has exposed the unnecessary expenditure on the new yellow-colour polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes. The pipes apparently have nothing to do with improving the distribution network in any meaningful way. If so, what it was about? I, as a shareholder, will abstain from voting or supporting any resolution tabled at the Annual General Meeting as a protest to show solidarity with the affectees of Karachi.

SAFER ROADS: An accident on the Rahim Yar Khan highway claimed at least 13 lives recently, leaving another 14 in a critical condition. This tragedy underscores the pressing need for improved road safety measures in the country. The impact of this incident on families is immeasurable as every individual holds a special place. The loss of life deeply affects the entire family structure. The authorities concerned should ensure safer roads for our people.
