PESHAWAR: Two police personnel sustained injuries in an armed attack within the jurisdiction of Regi police station on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Tuesday evening, police said.

An official statement issued by the city police said that the personnel were on their way back home from duty when they came under attack, adding that both the cops sustained injuries and were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

The statement said that SSP Kashif Aftab Abbasi visited the hospital and inquired after the health of the injured cops.

It added that one of the injured personnel was discharged from the hospital while the other one was still under treatment.
