KARACHI, Feb 26: All-rounder Abdul Razzaq played a leading role in Lahore Lions’ third successive victory in the Twenty20 Cup cricket when they handed out nine-wicket drubbing to Quetta Bears at the NBP Sports Complex ground On Sunday.

Razzaq took two wickets for seven runs in four overs and Rizwan Ahmed got two for 17 as Quetta batting first were restricted to 120 for six in 20 overs. Faisal Irfan made 40.

Lahore Lions in reply romped home for the loss of just one wicket in 14.1 overs.

Razzaq, who clinched the Man-of-the-Match award, smashed an unbeaten 52 in 44 balls with eight boundaries and one six while Rashid Riaz finished 31 not out.

Lahore Lions jumped on the top of pool “B” with six points.

Defending Champion Faisalabad Wolves made a great recovery after losing the opening match, to win next two games.

In their third pool “A” match Faisalabad Wolves routed Karachi Zebras by massive margin of 113-runs thanks to a brilliant display by opener Asif Hussain and leftarm pacer Samiullah.

Sent to bat first at UBL Sports Complex Ground, Faisalabad Wolves piled up the highest total of 221 for seven.

Asif blasted a quickfire 84 off 43 balls with 12 boundaries and three 6s. Skipper Misbahul Haq cracked two sixes and two fours in making an enterprising 38 in 23 deliveries.

Sami snapped-up four wickets for 27 runs in a fiery four over spell as Karachi Zebras crashed to 108 all out in 14.4.

Only three batsmen Tanveer Ahmed (35 six 4s) Khurram Manzoor (18), Tahir Khan (13) reached double figure.

In the other match at UBL Sports Complex which was marred by crowd trouble Lahore Eagles thrashed Peshawar Panthers by five wickets.

Batting first Peshawar Panthers collected 171-8 in 20 overs with Yasir Hameed making 55 with six fours.

Wajahatullah Wasti made 40 in 17 balls with five fopurs and three sixes and skipper Younis Khan struck two sixes and as many fourss in his 33 off 23 balls.

Muhammad Ashfaq blitzed two sixes and ten fours in his 66 off 30 balls. Kamran Sajid banged seven boundaries and a six off just 24 balls.

Jahangir Mirza ended unbeaten on 24 off 23 balls and laced with three boundaries.

In another match Rawalpindi Rams beat Multan Tigers by 24 runs on Duckworth/Lewis Method.

Batting first Rawalpindi Rams scored 165 for six wickets thanks largely to skipper Naved Qureshi’s 56.

Multan Tigers managed 75 for five wickets in 10 overs.
