TOBA TEK SINGH: At least three persons died,while 10 others were injured, in fog-related incidents in different areas of Faisalabad on Wednesday.

A man and his son died when a speeding bus ran over the motorcycle they were riding, allegedly because of poor visibility caused by fog, near Roshanwala bypass road in Faisalabad.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, Usman (20) and his father Akhtar (60), residents of Chak 296-RB, Wakeelanwala, were on their way to Faisalabad when a speeding bus ran over their motorcycle.

As a result, both got critically wounded. They were being shifted to the Allied Hospital, when they succumbed to their injuries. The rescuers say the accident was allegedly caused by poor visibility because of a heavy fog in the area.

Similarly, in another fog-related incident a youth died after his motorcycle was hit by a truck on Sargodha Road near Chak 2 JB Ram Diwali, Faisalabad.

Rescue 1122 officials say that the motorcyclist, Hamid Naveed (22), died instantly after being hit by the truck as the driver could not see the bike because of fog-induced poor visibility.

His brother, Abdul Hanan (20), who was riding pillion, was seriously injured in the accident and shifted to the Allied Hospital.

In another incident, four passengers were injured seriously when the van they were travelling in collided with a sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley on Faisalabad-Rajana Road near Torrianeala Adda on Wednesday.

They were shifted to Samundri THQ hospital and were identified as Abdullah (17), Shahzad (33), Shoaib (43) and Shiraz Bibi (35).

At least five people were injured in Faisalabad near Narwala bypass Chowk, when two vans plunged into a roadside pit due to thick fog.

They were shifted to Ghulam Muhammadabad General Hospital.
