MARDAN: Three brothers were killed and a passer-by was injured when rival groups clashed over a land dispute in Spainky Jabagy area of Rustam tehsil here on Friday, the police said.

Officials of Chora police station said the deceased were identified as Rozi Khan, 36, Shah Zameen, 34, and Mohammad Shafiq, 25, while the injured passer-by was identified as Fazal Hadi.

The Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot soon after getting information about the incident and shifted the bodies and the injured man to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mardan, for medico-legal procedure.

The killers escaped the area after the incident.

The police registered an FIR on the complaint of Suleman, son of deceased Shah Zameen, against accused Akbar Zeb and his relatives.

The FIR stated that a land dispute was going on between both the groups, which led to killing of three brothers on Friday.

The police officials said they were raiding hideouts of the accused to arrest them.
