ISLAMABAD: Criminals shot and injured a man during a robbery, while two houses were looted in separate incidents in capital, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, criminals shot and injured a man during a robbery in I-9 Markaz, they said, adding that the injured was identified as Sufwan Haider, an accountant by profession.

Two armed robbers intercepted him in I-9 Markaz when he was returning home from his office in F-6 and held him up at gunpoint, the police said, adding the victim was injured from one of the robbers unprovoked firing.

Later, the robbers looted Rs2,000 casha mobile phone and a laptop and escaped, they said.

A case was registered at Industrial Area police station under section 394 of PPC against the robbers, the police added.

In another incident, a gang of robbers looted 10 tola gold, along with cash and valuables from a house in Dhok Awan, they said, adding that two persons armed with weapons entered the house of Anjum Rafiq after breaking the door.

Later, they made the residents hostage at gunpoint, besides threatening them with dire consequences, the police said, adding that one of the gunmen remained with the residents while his accomplices looted the gold ornaments, Rs40,000 cashand two mobile phones.

Later the robbers escaped with the looted items, they said, adding that a case was registered at Humak police station under section 392 of PPC against the robbers.

Two armed robbers entered a house in G-8/2 and made the residents hostage, the police said, adding that later they destroyed the DVR and CCTVs and locked the the residents in a room.

A gunman remained with the residents while others looted three mobile phones and Rs20,000 cash and escaped.

A case was registered against the robbersat Karachi Company police station under Section 392 of PPC, the police said, adding that the robbers were in between 35 to 40 years old.
