CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that PTI ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for nine consecutive years weakened economy of the province.

Addressing an election rally, he said that owing to flawed economic policies of PTI government, the province was facing crisis. He said that province was finding it hard to pay salaries to government employees due to dearth of money. The country was close to bankruptcy during the less than four years rule of PTI in centre, he added.

The QWP chief claimed that if given an opportunity, he would start a solarisation scheme to resolve the problem of electricity loadshedding and provide employment to youth. He added restoration of peace, development and prosperity was the motto of QWP.

He said that struggle would be made at all levels to boost economy and control the galloping inflation.

On the occasion, local politicians Syed Kamaluddin and Arif Kamal in Mirza Dherd union council announced to join QWP.

Mr Sherpao said that PTI misled people with hallow slogans and false promises. He said that PTI promised to create one billion jobs and provide five million houses to people.

He said that PTI ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for nine consecutive years but instead of taking the path of development and economic prosperity, the province was left with a debt of Rs950 billion.

He said that the loans taken during the PTI government should be investigated to find out where the money was spent.

He held PTI responsible for political and economic chaos and lawlessness, saying that the person, who always called others thieves and robbers, was facing courts on same charges.

It merits a mention here that Aftab Ahmed Khan had won elections in NA-8 constituency thrice during the previous polls.

However, in 2018 general elections PTI candidate Anwar Taj defeated him.
