GWADAR: National Party President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said his party is the custodian of Balochistan’s rights and playing the role of a mouthpiece for the Baloch nation and it will not compromise on the rights of the people of province.

Speaking at a campaign gathering on Thursday, Dr Baloch recalled the development projects his party had completed in Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan when he was the chief minister and his party was in the coalition government.

He said that the NP government paid special attention to crucial issues in Gwadar over its two-and-a-half-year tenure in the province.

Giving details, Dr Baloch said his government completed the Sod Dam project and spent over Rs3 billion on the water pipeline to bring water to the people of Gwadar and thus ended a serious water crisis in the town on a permanent basis.

He said the NP government also established the Turbat campus of University of Gwadar besides establishing several other educational institutions and set up sewage treatment plants.

He said in order to promote girls education in the area, a Girls College, was also established in Gwadar and proprietary rights were granted to residents of Shambay Ismail locality. Construction of Gwadar Airport Road and Padi Zar Marine Drive projects were also undertaken during the NP government.

The NP leader promised to the people that if his party was voted to power again, it will implement its manifesto to ensure progress and prosperity in entire Balochistan.

A large number of people, including women, attended the gathering.

Dr Baloch said some “Afghan intruders” have been deployed in the political arena of the province to exploit its resources and clarified that it should be remembered that Gwadar belongs to late Mir Hussain Ashraf and this is the city of followers of late Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo.
