KOHAT: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Kohat general secretary Salman Shinwari was allegedly whisked away by unknown persons while electioneering for a candidate of the party here, his father claimed on Sunday.

Shehbaz Gul Shinwari told Dawn on contact that he had got an FIR registered with the cantonment police.

He, however, said the police officials said they did not know anything about his ‘missing’ son.

Mr Shehbaz claimed that his son had been kidnapped by unknown people.

The complainant said his son had confided to him that he had been receiving threats for some time not to campaign for PTI-backed Shafi Jan.

Mr Shehbaz said they had contacted every police station, his friends and relatives, but did find his whereabouts.
