QUETTA: Unknown armed men gunned down Levies personnel in Kahan area of Kohlu district on Monday.

A Levies official said that the soldier who was identified as Lal Muhammad was on his way to home when armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on him.

He passed away on spot since he could not sustain the multiple bullet injuries. He was taken to the district hospital where his body was handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities.

“It is a target killing,” Levies officials said, adding that the accused who were riding a motorcycle managed to escape from the site.

Levies along with FC have launched a search operation in the area to trace the attackers. However, no arrest was reported so far.
