MUZAFFARGARH: The PTI leadership took action against its candidate Jamshed Dasti and suspended his party membership due to violations in the election campaign.

The notice was issued by PTI Chairman Gauhar Ali Khan, as per his statement on X. All party workers were instructed that Jamshed Dasti, the candidate for PP-270 constituency, had violated party policy. Consequently, his party membership was suspended, rendering him ineligible.

Dasti violated party policy by supporting his wife, Nazia Jamshed, as a PTI candidate in NA-176, despite Nawabzada Ahmad Khan being the designated PTI nominee.

Dasti claimed that Ahmad Khan is supporting PPP candidate for NA-176, Nawabzada Iftikhar. However, Nawabzada Ahmad Khan clarified that Nazia Jamshed is not a PTI candidate and he is party nominee.

In Muzaffargarh’s NA-175, PML-N candidate Hammad Nawaz Tipu was found violating party policy by openly supporting independent candidate Nasir Taraggar, despite Sardar Ajmal Chandia being the official PML-N candidate.

Chandia stated that he had already lodged a complaint with party leadership, leading to a show-cause notice issued to Tipu.

Talking to Dawn, Hammad Nawaz claimed he did not receive any notice from his leadership. He argued that he had opposed award of ticket to Chandia, saying he was not violating party policy and now supporting Chandia.

Dasti claimed he did not receive any direction from the party leadership, terming it fake on social media.
