LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a petition by PTI President Parvez Elahi seeking an electoral symbol of ‘peacock’ instead of ‘donkey cart’ allotted to him.

On the court’s direction, a counsel for the election commission appeared and argued that a final notification of the election symbol had been issued. He said a change in the symbol was not possible as the ballot papers had been printed.

He said changing the electoral symbol of any candidate at this stage would delay the election in the constituency.

The ECP’s lawyer said the petitioner had not approached the RO in time.

Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan reserved the verdict on the petition.
