LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday announced four-day election holidays in schools, colleges and universities across the province.

All private and public schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from Feb 6 to 9 for the general election scheduled to take place on Feb 8.

The caretaker CM posted on X. “Important Update: In view of the upcoming general elections on 8th February, Provincial Cabinet has approved that all public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from Feb 6th to Feb 9th. 9:30 am timing for schools will only be observed till 3rd February. Regular school timings will be observed later on.”

A public holiday has already been declared for Kashmir Day on Feb 5, and the election holidays from Feb 6 to 9 mean that the educational institutions will reopen on Feb 12 after a week-long break.
