RAWALPINDI: Lahore and Karachi were declared joint winners of the National Women’s T20 Tournament after the final here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium was called off on Wednesday without a ball being bowled due to rain.
The designated prize money of Rs1.5 million was evenly split between the two teams.
Lahore dominated the league stage, boasting a formidable 10-game winning streak, securing their position at the top of the points table. Karachi’s path to the final involved a close victory over Rawalpindi, backed by a superior net run-rate.
Rawalpindi’s captain Aliya Riaz and Multan’s skipper Gull Feroza were jointly honoured as players of the tournament. Both players garnered five player-of-the-match awards, the highest in the competition.
Aliya, the third-highest run-scorer, amassed 370 runs with three half-centuries and an unbeaten century, in addition to claiming 10 wickets. Gull, the second-highest run-scorer, notched up 479 runs, featuring five half-centuries, and recorded five dismissals behind the stumps.
Sidra Amin from Lahore received the accolade for the best batter of the tournament, accumulating 494 runs in 10 matches, including three half-centuries and a century.
Lahore’s leg-spinner Ghulam Fatima emerged as the most successful bowler with a notable tally of 21 wickets at an average of 8.24 and an economy rate of 4.44.
Lahore’s Sidra Nawaz secured the title of the best wicket-keeper, contributing 15 dismissals, including six catches and nine stumpings.
