Nightlights give a warm and comforting glow wherever they are placed. They come in all shapes and sizes, but serve a common purpose — providing soothing dim light and also to enhance the ambience of a room.

But making your own custom nightlight can be a fun and fulfilling DIY project; therefore, today, we are making cloud nightlight using some wool, empty plastic bottle and fairy lights. Believe it kids, it looks super amazing in the night. So let’s start!

Directions:

  1. Mark the centre of the bottle cap and the bottom of the bottle as shown in the picture 2.

  2. With the help of an adult, carefully make a hole at both the mark on the bottle cap and the mark on the bottom of the bottle, picture 3.

  3. Insert one end of the string through the hole in the bottom of the bottle and slide it through the inside of the bottle and take it out from the hole in the cap, see pictures 4, 5 and 6.

  4. Apply the double-sided tape around the outside of the bottle, as shown in picture 7.

  5. Fluff the wool, and put it gently on the bottle; you can keep on shaping to form the cloud shape, see pictures 8 and 9.

  6. Cut out a crescent moon shape and a few stars in various sizes from the yellow glitter or foam sheet, picture 10.

  7. Apply a small dab of hot glue to the back of the crescent moon and attach it to the top of the cloud. Similarly, use dabs of glue to attach the star cut-outs randomly around the cloud formation, picture 11.

  8. Now insert the LEDs or the fairy lights inside the bottle, keep the battery outside so that you can switch on and off, pictures 12 and 13. Our amazing cloud nightlight is ready.

See the charisma of glowing cloud in your room every night.

Note: you can either hang or put it on your study or side table.
