KARACHI: Police on Saturday registered a case against unknown militants of the outlawed Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) for their alleged involvement in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast near the provincial office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Saddar on Friday evening.

DIG-South Asad Raza said that the case was registered under Sections 3 /4 of the Explosive Substance Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act after the SRA claimed responsibility of the attack on social media.He said that no one had been arrested so far.

On Friday evening, a man picked a shopper from the roadside and threw it at a garbage dump, causing a minor blast. The bomb disposal squad said that only the fuse of the IED exploded.
