KARACHI/HYDERABAD: Moderate to heavy showers soaked Karachi and several parts of the province on Saturday, causing cold, which had reduced to a great extent, to make a sudden comeback.
The Met Office said that the current spell of rains was due to a westerly wave that’s expected to bring about more showers early Sunday morning.
However, the weather will remain partly cloudy throughout the day on Sunday, it added.
It’s still raining in almost all areas of the metropolis by the time this report was filed.
The rain caused disruption in power supply in several parts of the city, including parts of Clifton and Defence.
In Hyderabad, the rain started around noon and continued intermittently till evening.
The temperature had started to shoot up a couple of days back but rain on Friday and Saturday caused it to drop again.
It also rained in Dadu, Jamshoro, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar and Johi towns where it began last night and continued through the night and the next day.
According to reports, it rained heavily in Gorakh Hills Station, Nai Gaaj, Kachho, Sehwan, Sann, Manjhand, Kotri and Thana Bula Khan.
The rain also soaked Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Kandiaro and Sanghar. It started raining lightly on Friday afternoon and continued with intervals throughout the day on Saturday.
