DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party have decided to support Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s candidate Maulana Asad Mahmood on NA-43, Tank-cum-Dera seat.

This was announced during a joint press conference here on Friday evening by PML-N candidate for NA-43 Mohammad Akbar Khan and ANP candidate for PK-112 Abdul Raheem Khan along with Asad Mahmood.

On the occasion, Mr Mahmood, the son of party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, said his party would continue its efforts for the development of the country and welfare of people.

He said his party was cognisant of the problems the people were facing and concrete measures would be taken for resolution of the issues if the party was voted to power.

“In the brief 18-month PDM-led government, we tried our best to resolve problems of people,” he claimed.

Mr Mahmood said that they would never accept the governments that were formed without the people’s mandate. He said that efforts would also be made to overcome power loadshedding in Dera and Tank districts.

Replying to a question, he said that despite political differences, the party leaders and workers did not resort to using bad language against opponents. The JUI-F leader said that the PTI leadership was in trouble because of its own actions. “They are reaping what they sowed,” he remarked.
