TOBA TEK SINGH: Two PTI-backed candidates – one from NA-105 (Gojra) and the other from PP-120 – along with their 52 workers, have been booked for holding a corner meeting without permission of the assistant commissioner (AC) concerned.

The FIR against the candidates, Usama Hamza (NA-105) and Asif Ihsan Gujjar (PP-120), and their 52 workers was registered on Sunday under section 188 of the PPC on the complaint of Nishatabad police post in-charge Mumtaz Hussain, with the Gojra city police.

The complainant said in the FIR that the accused violated section 144 of CrPC by holding a public gathering without getting permission from Gojra AC.

Meanwhile, at Khanewal, Chab Kalan police registered a case against two sons of the PML-N candidate from PP-209, Chaudhry Ziaur Rehman.

The FIR says that the PML-N candidate’s sons, Shahryar and Hussain Zia, along with theirnine accomplices, allegedly threatened the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) nominee Hussain Khan Niaziof with dire consequences, when he and his supporters were canvassingat Chak 75/15L in the constituency.
