Kashmir Solidarity Day observed with enthusiasm across Sindh

KARACHI: People from all walks of life took out rallies and held programmes across Sindh on Monday to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day with enthusiasm, highlighting the plight of the Kasmiris at the hands of the Modi government.

Various programmes, including seminars and walks, were held all over Karachi.

Speaking to media persons outside the KMC head office, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab said the people of the city stood by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters who were facing the worst kind of aggression at the hands of India.

Commissioner Karachi Division Mohammad Saleem Rajput held the “5th February Solidarity Day Kashmir Walk” also participated by caretaker Sindh ministers Muhammad Younus Dhaga and Rana Hussain.

Speakers condemn Indian brutality, call for early solution of issue

The Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, organised a seminar at Haseena Moin Hall, addressed by prominent personalities.

Karachi Press Club (KPC) also held a seminar in which speakers urged all the political parties to be on the same page in order to find a solution to the longstanding issue of Kashmir.

The University of Karachi showed a special documentary about Kashmir, its beauty, historic values and Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination. A quiz related to Kashmir was also held on the occasion.

NAWABSHAH: Members of the Pakistan Zindabad Movement and Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society took out rallies which culminated outside Nawabshah Press Club.

Students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Nawabshah organised programmes on the campus.

Similar rallies were organised by different parties and groups in Sanghar and Naushahro Feroze.

JACOBABAD: A large number of Jamat-i-Islam (JI) workers and citizens participated in a rally that was taken out from the district JI’s main office, led by local emir Haji Deedar Ali Lashari.

Carrying the flags of Kashmir, the participants were raising slogans ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’ and ‘Pakistan Zinda Bad’. Speakers also addressed the rally.

The Sunni Tehreek (ST) took out a rally from Shaheed Allah Bakhsh Soomro Park. Marching on different roads, the participants raised slogans against the Modi government and Indian army, demanding the freedom of Kashmir.

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) also staged a rally in which both Muslims and non-Muslims participated.

Several other rallies and programmes were held in Shikarpur, Ghotki and Khairpur districts.

DADU: Here professors, lecturers and students took out a rally from Ustad Bukhari Government Degree College. Another one was started from Allama I.I. Qazi Library to the press club of Dadu by citizens and activists of social organisations.

On the occasion, the University of Sindh organised a rally, led by Vice Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr Siddique Kalhoro. Taken out from the Arts Faculty Building, it culminated at the Central Library after passing through various roads on the campus. The participants were chanting slogans such as “Kashmir Banega Pakistan”.

Later the VC and other speakers addressed the rally.

UMERKOT: The Hindus also observed Kashmir Solidarity Day like the Muslims. Educational institutions, civil society activists and officials of line departments took out rallies and organised programmes for the Kashmiris.

The day was also observed in Umerkot, Samaro, Kunri, Pithoro, Chhor Cantonment, Khokhrapar near the Indo-Pak border.

BADIN: A rally was taken out from the DC office to DCO Chowk, participated by a large number of people, including minority community members.

MIRPURKHAS: The district administration here staged a rally from the Commissioner Complex to the local press club. Carrying banners and placards, the participants marched through main roads and raised slogans in support to the Kashmiri people and gathered at the press club where speakers addressed them.

SUKKUR: Seminars and programmes were held and rallies taken out in Sukkur, Ghotki, Kandhkot-Kashmor, Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Khairpur districts.

A seminar was held at Sukkur IBA University and students, along with teachers, took out a rally, carrying flags and raising slogans for the freedom of the Kashmiris from the clutches of India.

Kashmir Azadi Tehreek leader Mushaal Mallick, wife of Yasin Mallick, made a telephonic speech, saying: “We are grateful to the people of Pakistan for standing in solidarity with the Kashmiris.”

She said India subjected the innocent Kashmiris to severe torture and RAW was involved in the massacre of men, women and children of Kashmir.

IBA university pro-vice chancellor Mir Muhammad Shah also addressed the rally.

On the occasion, students demanded that the international bodies, like the United Nations, should take notice of the brutality being inflicted upon the Kashmiris.

A large number of students and teachers from government and private educational institutes took out rallies from different areas that concluded at Sukkur Stadium.

KANDHKOT-KASH-MORE: In Tangwani a big rally was taken out on the call of the Aman Committee in which people from different walks of life participated and demanded freedom of Kashmir.

Staged from Nadra Chowk, it was culminated ended at the van stop. Speeches were also made on the occasion.
