DERA GHAZI KHAN: Lal Garh police on Tuesday booked five participants of a PML-N rally staged in Jamput tehsil in favour of the Punjab Assembly’s former deputy speaker Sher Ali Gorchani, for resorting to aerial firing.

The rally was taken out in PP-239, where Mr Gorchani is a PML-N candidate.

Police sources says that the local supporters of the PML-N candidate took out a rally to show their strength in the limits of Lal Garh police station.

During the rally, some of the participants resorted to aerial firing at a busy intersection of Jampur.

Taking notice of the incident, Lal Garh police registered a case against five suspects under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Mr Gorchani is facing a tough tripartite fight with Mirza Shehzad, backed by ex-MNA Meena Leghari-Nasurrllah Dreshak group of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Shazia Abid, candidate of the PPP.
