CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao here on Tuesday urged people to vote for the candidates of those political parties that had the ability to steer the country out of the prevailing crises.

Addressing a well-attended gathering in his village Sherpao, he said that nation should reject those, who ruined the country through their misrule.

“Voters should vote wisely to elect the party and candidates, who can work for the betterment of people. This is an election between those, who have destroyed the country, and those, who want to put it back on path to development,” said Mr Sherpao.

He said that people should remember the perpetrators of May 9 mayhem. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan believed in the rule or ruin philosophy, which led to attacks on military installations after his arrest.

Paying homage to his elder brother Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao on his 49th death anniversary, he said that he sacrificed his life striving for the wellbeing of people from downtrodden segments of the society. “People still remember him for his hard work and struggle against the forces of status quo,” he added.

Mr Sherpao said the PTI rule ruined the country and caused political instability. He said that PTI disillusioned youth and deceived them through hollow slogans. He added that slogan of the so-called change by Imran Khan was a ploy to reach the corridors of power.

He said that the government of Imran Khan failed to develop working relationship with opposition in National Assembly. He said that it would take considerable time to undo the damage caused to the country. He said that people should vote for those candidates, who had the ability to revive economy, create jobs and fight poverty.

Mr Sherpao said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered the most during the PTI rule. He said that KP lagged behind in all sectors. He said that KP’s debt soared to over Rs1,000 billion, rendering the province cash-strapped.
