Polling material brought to dispatch centres across Sindh

KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday set up dispatch centres across the province, including Karachi, to store ballot papers, boxes and other election material for their subsequent transportation to the polling stations.

The process to hand over election material to presiding officers so that they could take it to their respective polling stations will begin from Wednesday (today).

In Karachi, officials said that nine dispatch centres have been established for seven districts.

For district East a dispatch centre has been set up at Expo Centre, while another established at the Government College of Technology SITE for Keamari district.

Transportation of ballot boxes, papers, etc, to polling stations begins today

The offices of deputy commissioners/district returning officers in Malir and West are designated as dispatch centres for the two districts.

The election material for district Central is being stored at the Government Comprehensive School in North Nazimabad.

Two such centres have been set up for Korangi district at the Government Superior Science College in Shah Faisal Colony and Government Girls College Korangi 2 ½.

For district South, two dispatch centres have been established at the Government Commerce College near PIDC and Church Mission School on Nishtar Road.
