NAWABSHAH: A close aide to Asif Ali Zardari, Ismail Dahiri who was contesting for PS-39 (Qazi Ahmed) as an independent candidate in protest after he was denied the party ticket, announced to pulling out of the race in favour of a PPP aspirant.

In a video message, along with former MNA and candidate for NA-208 (Nawabshah-II) Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Mr Dahiri said he was called by PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House on Wednesday and asked to withdraw. As he could not refuse him, so he was retiring from the contest, he added.

Jamaat Al-Saliheen supports PPP

The Jamaat Al-Saliheen Pakistan on Wednesday announces its support of the PPP candidates in general elections.

Addressing a press conference, Jamaat’s chairman and Islamic Ideology Council member Khalid Sultan Bahu along with Nawabshah Mayor Qazi Rasheed Bhatti made the announcement.

He said that his Jamaat had a large number of workers and followers in Nawabshah, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Jacobabad and other parts and appealed them to vote for PPP candidates on Thursday, Feb 8.
