CHARSADDA/KOHAT: MNA-elect Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has said that the name for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s slot will be finalised after consultation with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.

He was speaking at a ceremony in Charsadda on Monday, where MPA-elect form PK-64 Iftikharullah Jan announced joining the PTI.

Sher Afzal said the incoming provincial government would take action against the provincial police chief, three regional police officers and seven district police officers for their ‘unlawful’ action against PTI workers and leaders.

He said the senior police officers had lodged fake cases against PTI workers in the aftermath of the May 9, 2023 incidents.

Sher Afzal claimed that PTI had won 185 National Assembly seats, but 87 of which were snatched from the party.

He said that if PML-N and PPP formed government in the centre, it would be tantamount to stealing the public mandate.

He warned that if PTI was not given its right to form the government then the party would hold a march on Islamabad and would also move courts.

Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting in Kohat on Monday, MNA-elect Shehryar Afridi warned that the district police officer, the deputy commissioner and all SHOs

would face the music for harassing the families of PTI activists, conducting midnight raids at their homes and arresting them time and again since May 9, 2023 mayhem.

He also accused the caretaker government of being partial and indulging in discrimination against PTI leaders and workers.
